Stone – Xocoveza Milk Stout. ABV 8.1%

Described as a “Mocha Stout”, this is certainly a different take on a Milk Stout. Flavours are Mexican in origin and consist apparently of cocoa, coffee, chilli peppers, vanilla, cinnamon & nutmeg.

Sounds ideal for a cold night in!

I cracked lightly chilled. First pour is very cinnamon on the nose, that then settles more towards nutmeg. As it comes up closer to room temp, the chili aftertaste is definitely there, albeit it extremely mild. Certainly can’t get any coffee out of it, but the cinnamon is definitely in there. Flavour sits right at the tip of your tongue which is unusual for a stout. Overall, flavours are mild and complex, but very well balanced.

Different drinking, but in a great way.

Definitely one to add to your lists if haven’t been there yet.
